Intentionality means purposefully aligning with your goals and making your life more meaningful. It’s about responding to life the way you choose to respond instead of automatically or in ways you will regret or want to change. To determine what intentionality means to you, do some soul searching to discover what you want to achieve and live by, what excites you, puts a smile on your face, and makes you feel good about yourself. Journaling, meditation, hypnosis, and creating a vision board can improve your self-awareness.
From there, you can practice setting intentions which is getting clear on what you want to achieve or experience. Learning to control your thoughts, actions, and reactions helps you achieve your goals. For example, you can decide to stay positive all day or start a conversation with someone you have ignored.
Perhaps you want to treat your co-workers with love and respect. Then, as you go about your day, attempting to think, feel, and act as you intended, you must take on the role of personal observer. When you want to stop, discard, or change a thought or behavior, you must first be aware of it, then decide whether it serves you. You must be consciously aware of what you are thinking, feeling, saying, and doing to make adjustments. So, if you observe yourself not treating your co-workers with love and respect, you can change your actions.
Being your observer is a skill that takes time and practice to master. It takes discipline to notice what you are doing that doesn’t align with your intentions and then self-correct. It takes a deeper
level of self-awareness to evaluate your thoughts, actions, and feelings and decide if you want to change in real-time.
Meditation teaches us to be aware of our thoughts. As we relax into meditation, thoughts drift across our minds. We observe these thoughts to learn about ourselves and decide if they are accurate or beneficial. Acknowledging our thoughts can encourage us to adjust, change our viewpoints, and stop feeding negativity.
Hypnosis is an excellent tool for learning what your higher self wants and learning your soul’s purpose so that you can determine how to direct your intentions. While under hypnosis, the hypnotist can guide you to the answers you seek. While you are in a deep subconscious state, a conversation between you and the hypnotist can help you dig deeper into what you truly want to accomplish. Then you can approach your intentions spiritually and become your authentic self.
By bringing spirituality, such as intentionally opening your heart, into all aspects of your daily life, you can contribute to the current global awakening of the heart and mind. The ultimate intent in intentionality is to improve the planet one life at a time by enhancing everyone’s journey of growth.
