An excellent yoga posture for overall health & wellbeing. It expands the abdominal region, helping digestion and elimination; it opens and heals the heart chakra, it releases tension in the ovaries & so much more!
Instructions: Come up onto your knees with feet hip distance apart & toes extended. Tilt head back so that the face is facing the ceiling. You should be pressing hips forward & expanding your chest region by pressing elbows back. Drop your hands back and hold onto your heels. Lastly, begin Breath of Fire Yoga Pranayama.
🐈⬛🐄 Cat/Cow Pose | Marjaryasana/Bitilasana [Complete as many rounds as you’d like]
A wonderful way to warm up the spine at any point (on or off your mat). Since it’s a breath synchronized movement, the asana flow from Cow Tilt to Cat Stretch has many powerful health benefits for the mind, body & soul. It’s one of those poses that helps you find freedom in the body almost instantly!
Instructions:
🐄 Cow Tilt — With a neutral spine, start to inhale expanding the belly toward the floor, lift the gaze (drishti) toward the third eye, send energy forward through the sternum & the tailbone as they tilt toward the sky.
🐈⬛ Cat Stretch — Start to exhale the belly button toward the spine & continue that lift toward the heart, scoop the tailbone, allow the chin to rest on the chest, and drishti toward the nose.
